the foundling museum presents
remembering margaret larney
£10 & under, tours & adventuresJoin historian Janette Bright for a fascinating guided tour exploring the life of Foundling Hospital mother Margaret Larney. Margaret Larney left two children at the Foundling Hospital in the 1750s. On the 260th anniversary of her death, historian Janette Bright leads a guided walk to hear Margaret Larney’s tragic story as a representation of one mother’s reason for abandoning her children. The walk will begin outside Holy Sepulchre London, on Holborn Viaduct (nearest tube stations: St Paul’s, Blackfriars and Farringdon) and end near Marble Arch station. Futher details on how to get to the church can be found here. Please congregate on the pavement outside the entrance, opposite the site of the old Newgate jail (now the Old Bailey). The guide will be wearing a Museum badge and holding Museum leaflets for visibility. Free but booking essential. https://foundlingmuseum.org.uk/events/remembering-margaret-larney/
